The New Year

It’s a new year!  Some people look at a new year as a fresh start while others view it as another year down the drain.  Personally, I am excited for this new year.  Not because of numbers rolling over back to zero, but because of what it symbolizes; newness.

I know the Lord is not subject to our timeline, but He certainly works within it.  Recently, He told me that my family would be entering a season of blessing; blessing that we could see. I’m so thankful!  I also want to be thankful when I can’t see the blessing.  Honestly, it feels like I didn’t deserve to hear that from the Lord.  I felt like we limped in big time, and didn’t earn it.  So, I told the Lord that, and He said, “You didn’t earn it. You can’t.  Jesus did!”  Hallelujah!  Thank God for Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, our reconciler to God, and the propitiation for our sin!!  Hallelujah to Jesus! 

I am encouraged, not so much that it is a new year, but that God is at work, and doing a new thing!  Praise Him forever!
